About Doctor Howard J. Kaplan

I attended medical school at the New York University School of Medicine and completed ophthalmology residency at the Kreiger Eye Institute in Baltimore, Maryland. I completed a two year vitreoretinal fellowship at the University of Washington in Seattle, and have since specialized in vitreoretinal diseases. I am board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and am on the medical staff at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie, and Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York.

Our office has state-of-the-art equipment for evaluation and treatment of vitreoretinal diseases, which include multiple lasers, ultrasound, digital fluorescein angiography, and OCT Imaging capabilities. Our office is also equipped to perform the latest intraocular medications for macular degeneration. I perform a variety of surgical procedures in the office and hospital, including laser surgery, cryotherapy, pneumatic retinopexy, scleral buckling and vitrectomy. Should hospitalization be required, the most modern equipment, techniques, and services will be used on all procedures.
